Position – Role required

GMM, General Medical Merate, is looking for a Senior Power Electronics Designer for the division Research & Development.

Main resposibilities

Ideal candidate, inside the division Research & Development, will collaborate in electronic design of systems and subsystems on radiological devices (systems and power inverters) for medical and industrial applications both in the OEM field and for specific requirements within GMM Group.

In particular, the candidate will deal with:

Writing the specifications of the HW functional requirements of the devices;
Defining necessary architectures and the appropriate functional block structure;
Translating the requirements into wiring diagrams;
Following transition and construction steps of prototypes in production;
Defining test strategies, procedures and carry out them for the integration/validation of the product;
Working with SW/FW and cooperate with Mechanical designers;
Cooperating with internal Quality department and conducting necessary customer support activities in the field and during certification processes.

Experience and skills

Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar;
Previous consolidated experience in the job at least 5-7 years;
Excellent knowledge of the main circuit topologies for power conversion stages, with a specific focus on converters, insulators and not, DC/DC, DC/AC and AC/DC;
Excellent knowledge of control techniques (voltage, current, etc.) and their implementation in real systems;
Ability to size magnetic components;
Knowledge of ECM;
Knowledge of laboratory equipment;
Knowledge of basic parameters of electrical/electronic components and ability to choose/evaluate/compare components.

Preferential requirements

Experience in designing microcontroller and mixed signals electronic cards;
Knowledge of rules and regulatory requirements in order to introduce products in the markets (CE marking, UL marking).

Language skills

Spoken and written English (intermediate level).
